The 1999 Mazda RX7 GT300 was run by Team RE Amemiya of Japan. The team got its name from no other than Isami Amemiya: A Japanese street legend best known for his expertise and raw talent in its ability to tune and modify rotary engines. The team competed in the GT300 series in a RX7. Powered by Three Rotor engine, the RX7 landed in the top 5 in both 1999 and 2000 championships. They secured several podiums and scored an overall final victory in 2006 which ended their participation in the Super GT series.
