Porsche Project 959 Shirt
In 1981, development of the Porsche 959 began as a project set out to create an entirely new sports car for Porsche. With the idea of an all new all-wheel drive system, the perfect testing ground would be the mental Group B Rally racing series. With Group B folding before development completed, Porsche continued the program using motorsport as the testing ground for creation of one of the most innovative and impactful supercars of all time. The 959 competed at two of the most grueling races - 24 Hours of Le Mans and 8,000+ mile Paris-Dakar rally, winning the latter in 1986 before delivering its first road going 959s in 1987.
Designed in collaboration between Last Era and Groundworks Design, the Project 959 shirt is an homage to a true trailblazer with proper motorsport pedigree. It was a pioneer and a true legend of the last era.
